Farmhouse Gallery Wall

I'm a huge fan of using gallery walls to bring personality, warmth, and character into a home! Over the years, I've installed more than 100 gallery walls for local clients, and it's truly one of my favorite ways to transform a space.

Welcome to my Gallery Wall Series! In each post, I'll help you discover the perfect gallery wall style to match your space — and showcase your unique personality.

An farmhouse gallery wall blends rustic charm with a timeless, curated feel, featuring vintage-inspired artwork, wooden frames, and natural textures. This style often includes black-and-white prints, botanical illustrations, and meaningful accents like wreaths or antique finds for a warm, collected look.

Spacing: An farmhouse gallery wall allows for more flexibility with spacing. Later in the guide, I’ll share tips on experimenting with layout.

Art Selection: Eclectic gallery wall are meant to be fun and unique. Not only can you mix and match art prints, you can also add in different elements like:

  ▸ woven baskets
  ▸ decorative plates
  ▸ words/letters
  ▸ mirrors
  ▸ floating shelves
  ▸ vintage keys or hardware
  ▸ maps
  ▸ arrows
  ▸ hearts
▸ old letters or cards framed

Location: Like most gallery walls, a farmhouse-style arrangement can work in any space. However, to ensure a cohesive look, it's important that the surrounding decor complements the rustic charm, think natural wood tones, neutral colours, and vintage-inspired accents.

In the image above, my client had a collection  of ornate frames she wanted to incorporate. I curated additional wall accessories and frames to complement them, creating a balanced and cohesive gallery wall.

In the next image, my client selected the "Relax" sign for her office as a starting point. After discussing her vision for the space, I sourced the remaining pieces and installed the gallery wall to bring her idea to life.

Frames: For a farmhouse-style gallery wall, stick to frames in neutral and rustic tones to complement the cozy, vintage-inspired aesthetic. Mixing these frame colours can add depth while keeping the overall look cohesive. Ideal frame colours include:

▸ white - perfect for a clean, airy farmhouse look
▸ black - adds contrast and a timeless touch
▸ natural wood - awarm, rustic feel with raw or distressed finishes
▸ gray or weathered wood - enhances the aged, vintage charm
▸ cream or off-white - softens the look while maintaining a neutral palette

Louisa Craven expertly styled a charming farmhouse gallery wall in her foyer, incorporating vintage-inspired accents to create a welcoming and timeless space.

Below, my client had a beautiful collection of empty frames she purchased from thrift stores. To enhance the display, we incorporated a few additional wall accents, creating a stunning focal point that’s visible as soon as you enter her home.

Cotton Stem beautifully styled a whimsical farmhouse gallery wall in her foyer, showcasing a delightful collection of wooden signs that add warmth and character to the space.

Accents: Over the years, I’ve used so many arrows in my designs that I started making them for my clients! No farmhouse wall feels complete without one. Most of my wall accents come from HomeSense/HomeGoods, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, thrift store and antique stores. And if you're lucky enough to have a Target (unlike me!), it's another fantastic source for stylish decor pieces.

In the image below, my client wanted a playful space for her growing kids while maintaining the basement’s rustic charm. Thanks to IKEA shelves, we achieved the perfect balance of function and style.

Below are two more client walls where we blended rustic frames, arrows, mirrors, and letters to craft unique and meaningful displays. Each arrangement reflects the personality of the family, combining warmth, character, and a touch of farmhouse charm to create inviting and personalized spaces.
