Baby Girl Nursery
I’m so happy to be blessed with a baby girl! Decorating her room was fun, yet stressful! It turns out that I have very expensive taste. Okay, I already knew that but we had moved into this house 10 months before she was born and had a tight budget for Quincy’s room so I had to be extra creative.

I went through a bunch of different ideas for her crib wall; including paneling detail, shiplap, wallpaper, set of 4 frames, vinyl decal pattern and the list goes on. In the end I went with wallpaper, one of the more expensive options but I justified it by saving on a few other items in the room.
For the wall colour, I knew I wanted pink but I wasn’t sure if I wanted a light pink or a medium pink, so I got a few samples to test out. I settled on Desert Rose from Benjamin Moore and love it.
Her room isn’t large, only about 11 ft x 10 ft and it has an annoying jut out in the corner that is a bit of wasted space. Between the jut out, the length of the wall, and the pathway from the door, I couldn’t have a deep dresser. I needed one that was shallow and the perfect length and IKEA had the best option and a great price. I will admit, by the time I add in the coats of paint, new legs and new hardware, a finished dresser would have saved time but this size was what I needed. For the drawers on the dresser I went with Pleasant Pink.
A custom closet wasn’t in the budget, but Ikea saved the day again. I bought 2 sizes of the Kallax shelves and two new hanging rods and have lots of space for all her things.
In the end I was quite happy with how everything turned out and love having a beautiful pink room for our sweet little girl.
